I must agree with this task. After reading the docs and SIIA I can see how to set up SI tasks. What I can't figure out is how to run the tasks.
My situation: I have a group of tomcat servers that all run the same code for my website but don't talk to each other. All session type activity is handled through the database.
What I am looking for in the docs: How do I go about setting up scheduled/event driven batch tasks in this type of systems?

1. Have one web server be the special "SI" server?
2. Create a command/control instance that tells the other servers what to do?
3. Investigate something like the Quartz Scheduler?
4. Get really crazy with some sort of MongoDB inspired Master/slave set up?

I can set up SI but the docs don't give suggestions on how to USE SI once past the single server stage.
