Disabling window_picker causing file not to open when only nvim-tree is present

Description

When window_picker is disabled and only nvim-tree buffer is present, file could not be opened by NvimTree. Happens since this commit dd90bfa, possibly related to the fix for #1671

Steps to reproduce

1. :NvimTreeOpen
2. close all opening buffers except NvimTree's (NvimTree as the only buffer)
3. open any file on NvimTree using <CR>

Expected behavior

Open the file in a split

Actual behavior

Nothing happen
