Got wrong line numbers

line number shows 16, but actual line number is 19. I understand it's because highlightjs auto wrap words and lines, but how to make them match?

Hi,
Currently script does not supported line wrapping.
Your using default styles from bootstrap for pre & code.

I suggest this CSS for fix your issue:

pre {
    overflow: auto;
    word-break: normal;
    word-wrap: normal;
}
pre code {
    white-space: pre;
}

Hi,

I tried to solve the problem a couple of weeks ago, the idea is the following:

1. wrap each line of code in a block element;
2. use pseudo-elements to specify the line number.

Difficulties arose with the first item on the list is due to the implementation of the highlight.js.

I keep thinking on a solution. If you have any ideas, please let me know.

The should work, and as I can think over, this may be the best solution. Just one question, can you know that how many lines does highlight.js auto wrapped for a line? I mean, let's say, there's a line which has 160 characters, and it's wrapped into 3 lines according to the width, but can you know it's 3 lines?

If you can, that's perfect, problem solved.

highlight.js don't uses the wrapper lines by default. Used only wrapping words in inline elements and added line breaks.
