What is a way to close menu item?

STR:
Go to search from dashboard
search any user
click on the user profile
click on the Compete menu item
Observe sub menu items

Actual:
It is not getting closed on click of the same menu item or outside of area.

Expected:
Sub menu item needs to be closed atlease one of the way. Currently it is forcefully open and no way to close it but refresh the page.

Can you please attach a video where I can see the menu getting closed on page refresh? Currently the submenu's are always open and I think its by design.
