Getting 'Unable to get groups from the API:Bad Request' on challenge load in dev env

The root cause is that Direct is still making call to the v5 groups api without membershipType param which in turn returns 400 from groups api. This is same on production, however, it is not happening for me on production because Direct is treating me as admin/tc-staff on production while not on dev.
