I think this probably is a better typeface, even if the italic variant is slightly over the top — the density is more consistent, and the glyphs are slightly thicker all round which addresses the concern in #174. EB Garamond at 1.8rem looks about the same as Cardo at 1.7rem, so if we're still worried about font size we could potentially bump it up even further, though I wouldn't want to go too far
