State machine gets saved to Mongo repository on creation but never changes

Like the title says, is there a way to persist state machine changes automatically?

Do you have any sample code which shows this behaviour?

I created a config class that extends EnumStateMachineConfigurerAdapter and that has the @EnableStateMachineFactory annotation. It overrides this method for persistence:

                .withPersistence()
                .runtimePersister(stateMachinePersister);
}

The other methods it overrides are for configuring the states and actions. The state machines themselves work just fine.

This is the Bean for the persister:

public StateMachineRuntimePersister<State, Event, String> stateMachinePersister
        (CustomStateMachineRepository customStateMachineRepository) {
    return new MongoDbPersistingStateMachineInterceptor<>(customStateMachineRepository);
}

The repository implements MongoDbStateMachineRepository.

I see new state machines showing in MongoDB when they are created and I'm able to retrieve them. The issue however is that these machines are never updated after their creation. Even if the state machine gets updated during runtime, the one retrieved from the repository will always be in its initial state, with an empty extended state. What I'd like is for the state machine retrieved from the repository to be in its most recent state, with the extended state and all. How can this be done? Thanks!

I did some changes to build system to get mongo tests run with gh actions and added one new test(attached PR). That new test shows that things are reflected in a mongo itself.

I don't say that you would not see an issue but perhaps there are some other differences in your use case.
