Travis fails on OpenJDK 7

this is interfering with pull request validation, so e.g. over at https://travis-ci.org/scala/scala-parser-combinators/jobs/157424627 the build is marked red (log) even though the failure is unrelated to the changes in the PR

@SethTisue sorry for the delay. I merged the workaround from #81, and the build is back to green.
