Automatically detect number of columns for test cases to display in terse mode

#95709 reduce(d) the number of test cases to display from 100 to 88 to fit under a terminal with 100 columns.

As an improvement, we could automatically decide how many test cases to display in each row using detection, and fallback to a default if not displayed in terminal.
