cc @rust-lang/lang / @joshtriplett in particular -- Some folks were asking about backlog bonanza so I thought I'd write something up about what we've been up to. I am wondering if I should split this into two posts, or change the subject line, but maybe it works as is.

I didn't really go into the idea that we have some project groups that are more formal and some that are less. I'm wondering about this distinction and how I feel about it. =)

I am wondering if I should avoid calling things "project groups" and just talk about "projects", where sometimes we also have a group associated with it and sometimes we don't.

Or maybe we should just make it easier to create a project group on the team repo and run with it.
