poetry-core is intended to be a light weight, fully compliant, self-contained package allowing PEP 517 compatible build frontends to build Poetry managed projects.

Using poetry-core allows distribution packages to depend only on the build backend.

Thanks for the suggestion @fabaff! This seems like a good optimization to have. Would you mind reopening this issue in https://github.com/openapi-generators/openapi-python-client ? This client is ultimately generated from that project and it'd be good to have the changes upstream.

Since the change has been merged in the upstream generator, I'm going to close this PR. I don't have a timeline yet on when we'll update our generator version internally.
