I was trying to build pandas based on the instructions in README.md
the rule
make pandas/dist/<>.sdistfailed because as per my understanding the extension has to be .tar.gz rather than .dist. as dictated byTARGZ=pandas-$(PANDAS_VERSION).tar.gz
