How to determine SONAME

Now that you've given up on version numbers, how do we determine the SONAME of the shared library?

SOVERSION uses JSON_CPP_VERSION, but the deleted code provided JSONCPP_VERSION. There seems to be have been a typo. Was the SOVERSION correct before the change? If so, I don't know how.

Hmm. I think we've been using VERSION/SOVERSION wrong. It should look like this:

SET_TARGET_PROPERTIES(
     wt_lib
   PROPERTIES
     SOVERSION 2
     VERSION 2.0.6
   )

where the SOVERSION matches the first number in VERSION, for this:

/usr/lib/libwt.so -> libwt.so.2
/usr/lib/libwt.so.2 -> libwt.so.2.0.6
