Amalgamate.py fails with IOError

Running the amalgamate.py script from the top level directory fails with a "No such file or directory" IOError. Specifically it can't find the version.h file in the include\json directory.

I've tried this on both a Windows 8.1 machine with Python 2.7.8 and an OSX 10.9.4 machine with Python 2.7.5

You have to run cmake first.

I don't know a better solution. If we commit the version.h file, then it would change whenever regenerated.

Actually, I would like to drop the version string altogether. I don't think it has value now that we have stopped distributing tarballs with Subversion tags. (GitHub can generate a tarball for any commit.)
