Can you elaborate on what should happen here? Should the prettify method be public? Where should the API be moved to?

I'm not sure I remember what I had in mind.

Ok, let's say this then:

• Make sure we do have a method to prettify a commit message, which accepts a comment char
• Remove the prettify option from the low-level methods, it should live way above, and we should get rid of bool there and for the caller to decide on a comment char (or maybe just have a default, but still have an explicit char there)
