Is creating a child from an another field possible?

Essentially I need to create a field that has children as well.

Ultimately this will be a drop down where a user can select many options and it gets rendered as a child.

Any ideas on how to make this possible? One foreseeable problem would be additional children would have to align lower than the child from the input. Thank you for any help!

@JeremyAntonoff, this might be possible with some heavy modding and implement it as a new theme plugin, I think this is possible by redrawing on additions and removal with animations to mitigate flickering between redraw... but this is just thinking from top of my head as a pseudo code
