example of @commitlint/lint doesn't work

So, I'm trying to leverage lint into my app, but I get an error that lint is not a fuction. Even the example code gives the same error.

I created a repo with it if you want to simply test it.

Any ideas?

It's just not merged yet because I'm not sure if something is still open.
