ide fails to load

If I open the ide it goes to the welcome screen and disappears. Tried uninstalling and latest version
To no fix

run it from terminal, post on the forum the results, and be more specific.
This seems a specific problem of your pc, unless someone on the forum has
your same problem, then we have to finds similarity in the setup.
It is a bit early to open a bug report.

I have the same issue, I think, and the reason it does not work on my PC is something to do with internationalization. This is the output when run from the command line with the Java version supplied with Arduino:

When run with the system Java installation it works fine:
