Why is the "code" directive in docs/app/src/directives.js defined twice?

I'm gonna guess that the second definition overrides the first definition in docs/app/src/directives.js. Is there an advantage in defining it twice?

I just learned that the second directive "decorates" the first one. Still, is there any advantage to doing this? Why not just make one code directive in that file?
