Is it possible to hide the search box? akin to select2's minimumResultsForSearch property?

There is a dependency on having an input in ui-select so I can't change the input in the template. any thoughts?

only that the control looks for input else throws exception.
how did you plan to deal with this? i've started making a change to do what I need it to.

specifically added new property minimumResultsForSearch , change to template (boostrap) ng-show on condition results > minimumResultsForSearch. Opposite for new div placeholder.
