is it possible to disable parentheses autocompletion with variables?

Hi,
Is it possible to change the behaviour of pylsp when adding parentheses on autocomplete? Right now it's adding parentheses to variables/functions/etc, but I'd like it to only add parentheses if it's completing a function, not when completing variables.

Edit: I have done some tests, but I don't understand why sometimes it works
