R Koskela - avoid using Standards as a term if you're not a standards body. Use guidelines. Best practices may be better? Standardized? Can raise red flags in some communities

We want to incentivize community members to follow best practices or guidelines for open modeling and get some sort of "seal of approval" for following said guidelines

Also useful to consider who can become a member eg do they have to commit to supporting open modeling? To give you a way to say no to a potential member if their interests are not aligned. NB I am a co-chair of the Research Data Alliance Organizational Advisory Board, which has 50 paid members and 10 affiliates - and Rebecca Koskela held this role before me.

Can OMF provide a venue for funders of models and software to get together to come up with common ways to value what they fund?

Not just to value, but also to think about adoption of guidelines/recommendations in their respective grantee portfolios. There's potentially a funder education role here as well.

Josh Greenburg - OMF can provide mechanism for private and public funders for computational modeling to compare notes on modeling strategy and grantees that these funders give money to.

It would be good to bring together and establish profiles on different communities to define what is valuable in those respective communities

like ISO , they have consulting teams or companies to help clients to pass the standards.
